The Storyless Sea – Working Extracts

Hello to my lovely patrons! Thank you for your support and patience. I wanted to start sharing the work I am doing on my graphic novel. Below is an extract from the first chapter. These images are still in process and so will change and evolve in the quiet cave of my narrowboat as the Winter months unfold. The first book is written and so now it is all drawing and retelling as the images bring more of the detail through… I hope you enjoy it.

The first part of the story is the hardest to tell. It pertains to my birth and the Storyless Sea.

In order to tell the story of a storyless place, one must travel far and long through wormholes, voids in space and time, to dimensions where the fabric of reality holds the threads of insight which can be skilfully woven into the form of words and pictures to demonstrate that which cannot usually be tolerably percieved by the ‘ordinary’ human. In your world I believe this process is called magic.

In your world people use maps called concepts and ideas but the map is not the territory and so you will have to come with me into the confusion of the territory without maps and fish as I have fished for the thread of a narrative and sniff as I have sniffed for a plot in the wind. This is the story of my birth. It is not easy to tell.
